The TSS visa (subclass 482) is a temporary work visa for skilled workers who want to work in Australia. The following people can apply for this visa:
- Skilled workers who have a valid job offer from an approved sponsor in a nominated occupation on the relevant occupation list (Short-term Skilled Occupation List or Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List)

What are the different streams for skill shortage visas in Australia?
The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) in Australia has four streams:
Step 1
Short-term stream:
This stream is for occupations that are on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) and is valid for up to two years. It is designed for employers to fill short-term skill shortages and is intended for occupations that are not expected to lead to permanent residence.
Step 2
Medium-term stream:
This stream is for occupations that are on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) and is valid for up to four years. It is designed for employers to fill medium-term skill shortages and is intended for occupations that may lead to permanent residence.
Step 3
Subsequent entrant:
This visa is for family members of subclass 457 and TSS ( Subclass 482 ) visa holders who are applying separately for their TSS ( Subclass 482 ) visa and wish to join the primary subclass 457 or TSS visa holder in Australia.
When Visa applicants want to join the primary applicant on their visa, they must apply separately by submitting a visa application in their own right. This is known as a subsequent entrant.
Step 4
Labor agreement stream:
This visa is for skilled workers nominated by employers who have a Labour Agreement. It lets you live and work in Australia temporarily. Labor agreements are developed between the Australian Government and employers.
