When an individual is granted with the subclass, this visa allows them to stay in Australia indefinitely and become a permanent resident on the day the visa is granted. The visa also has a travel component that expires five years after the date of visa grant, which allows visa holders to travel to and from Australia during this period.
For citizenship purposes, the permanent residency of the visa holder starts on the day the visa is granted if they are already in Australia.
