It is important to note that although the minimum points required to lodge the EOI for the above visa classes is 65, scoring higher than 65 points gives one a better chance to secure an invite.
Pre Requirements of Expression Of Interest in Australia
When applying for EOI, requirements can vary depending on the specific visa program, but generally, individuals are required to meet the following prerequisites:
- Age: Individuals must be under the age of 45 at the time of submitting their EOI.
- English language proficiency: Individuals are required to demonstrate a certain level of English language proficiency, usually a minimum equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test score of 6.0 or higher.
- Educational qualifications: The pattern of study does not matter as long as the Australian study requirement is met. Applicants must complete at least 16 months of study while you are physically present in Australia.
- Points test: Individuals must score a minimum number of points on the points test, which is used to assess their qualifications, skills, and work experience.
- Nomination of an occupation: Individuals must nominate an occupation that is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) at the time of submitting their EOI.
- Skill assessment: Individuals must have a positive skill assessment from the relevant assessing authority for the occupation they have nominated.

To submit an EOI for a Skilled Migration visa in Australia typically involves the following stages:

Gather information and create an account in Skill select at the Department of Home Affair’s website in order to submit an EOI.
Step 2
EOI form completion and skill nomination :
Fill in the online EOI form by nominating your occupation and information regarding your qualifications and work experience.
Step 3
Submit Your EOI :
Applicants can then submit the EOI form and wait for an invite which depends upon the demand of their occupation and the points scored.
Step 4
Apply for Visa :
After receiving the invitation applicants can apply for their relevant Visa subclass.
It is important to note that for state nominated visas, there is an additional step to apply for a state nomination after lodging your EOI.
